STRONG Pathways: Building More Responsive Systems for Newcomer Mental Health
November 5, 2025 @ 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST
This webinar offered perspectives on how to strengthen mental health supports for newcomers, focusing on prevention, early intervention, and collaborative models that address the structural and systemic barriers to care. Presenters shared lessons learned and promising practices on how to promote more responsive, equitable, and community-driven systems of support. They highlighted the role of STRONG (Supporting Transition Resilience of Newcomer Groups), a Tier-2 mental health intervention designed to foster resilience, coping, and socio-emotional skills among newcomer children and youth. STRONG offers valuable insights into how targeted programming can complement upstream approaches while informing broader systems change.
