Webinar: Applying a Trauma-Informed Approach for Mental Health Promotion
January 25 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
This webinar will provide an application-based lens to trauma-informed approaches for mental health promotion and mental illness prevention. Trauma-informed organizations help to build trusting relationships with priority populations, reduce the incidence of re-traumatization and provide a safe space for those who require support.
The KDE Hub is pleased to host Dr. Nancy Poole, who will share her expertise and lead a presentation discussing how to implement a trauma-informed approach in the mental health promotion field. Dr. Poole is the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health, a research and knowledge exchange centre hosted by BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre in Vancouver and is the Prevention Lead for the CanFASD Research Network. A national leader in trauma-informed practice, Nancy has co-developed toolkits and training curricula on trauma-informed practice with agencies and governments across Canada and is committed to improving action on the links between women’s experiences of violence, trauma and substance use concerns.
Direct invitations for this webinar are to project team members from the Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund (MHP-IF), the Supporting the Mental Health of Those Most Affected by COVID-19 (MH COVID) fund, and the associated PHAC teams. Please feel free to forward this invitation to others in your team and networks that might be interested.
