Webinar: Mental Health Promotion in Canada: Leveraging global and local assets to accelerate our progress and impact

May 31, 2021 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT

The need for mental health promotion (MHP) has never been greater and it’s the least developed on the mental health continuum. But what is MHP? Who’s doing it in Canada? How might Canada be a world-leader in MHP? This webinar will feature the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund (MHP-IF) as a multi-year, multi-phase approach for advancing MHP in Canada. You’ll learn more about the 20 projects funded through the MHP-IF – all with a shared interest in MHP, with diverse populations and in over 120 places across Canada. You will hear how the MHP-IF is seeking to ‘apply what we know and learn as we go’, and how a recently released global position statement on MHP offers an opportunity for Canadian leadership through the MHP-IF and beyond. Please join us and consider how assets, lessons, and connections with the MHP-IF may be useful to you.

Speakers:

  • Shannon Bradley Dexter, MHP-IF Team Member, Senior Policy Analyst, Public Health Agency of Canada
  • Dr. Barb Riley, Scientific Director, KDE Hub
  • Dr. Emily Jenkins, MHP-IF Project Lead, Assistant Professor, University of British Columbia, Co-author IUPHE Position Statement
