Launching our free Implementation Learning Series

The KDE Hub is excited to announce the launch of a free Implementation Learning Series!

What is it?

Implementation science plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between research and practice. It helps to ensure evidence-informed interventions translate effectively into real-world settings, ultimately improving outcomes for individuals, organizations, and communities.

In today’s complex environment, successful implementation is vital for organizational and program success. This learning series has been crafted to cater to all levels of expertise, equipping you with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to enhance your implementation capacity. By integrating principles of implementation science into your work, you can enhance program effectiveness, improve community outcomes, and foster positive change.

We understand that navigating the field of implementation science and sifting through resources can be daunting. That’s why we’ve curated a series that pulls together resources from top sources, providing you with a “one-stop shop” for implementation science learning.

Informed by feedback from members of mental health promotion and illness prevention projects around implementation capacity and needs, this series is tailored to address challenges and opportunities faced by organizations related to implementation. The Implementation Learning Series offers curated content, opportunities for practical application, and the flexibility to learn at your own pace. Please self-select lessons based on your needs and interests.

Each unit explores different critical components of implementation science:

Unit 1: Introduction to Implementation, introduces implementation science including key definitions, concepts, theories, models, frameworks, and the four stages of implementation.

Unit 2: Engage and Explore, focuses on building implementation teams, and engaging stakeholders to identify programs or practices that best meet the needs of the local context.

Unit 3: Plan and Prepare, explores building and defining an implementation plan (including a theory of change) and increasing team capacity and readiness to initiate the plan.

Unit 4 (Deliver and Refine) and Unit 5 (Sustain and Scale) will cover the last two stages of implementation. These units will be coming soon.

Who is this for?

This learning series is relevant for anyone engaged in implementing programs and interventions within their communities by providing opportunities to enhance existing skills, stay updated on best practices, and refine strategies. This learning series may also be useful for new staff members joining your organization and can be used as an onboarding tool, providing essential knowledge and training on implementation science and implementation processes. Regardless of experience level, this learning series covers a wide range of topics, ensuring that learners at all levels can find value and relevance for their context.

We encourage you to share this learning series with your networks and anyone you believe would benefit from learning more about implementation science or enhancing their skills in a convenient and digestible format.
