Promoting Indigenous Mental Wellness and Health Equity in the wake of COVID-19

This project lead by The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC), an Indigenous governed, culture based, and Indigenous-informed organization comprised of 28 Indigenous community health care organizations in Ontario, focusses on addressing the pressures and burnout experienced by staff providing care to Indigenous communities during COVID-19. The project will build on previous work undertaken by IPHCC to develop culturally based mental health education, training, tools and resources for Indigenous health care workers working on COVID’s frontlines; enhancing integrated access to care; and developing Indigenous-specific, strength and cultural-based mental health performance indicators. Through its various activities, this project is expected to reach up to 450,084 mental health practitioners and clinical care teams within Indigenous and mainstream health settings across Ontario.

Lead organization: Indigenous Primary Healthcare Council
