Mind Your Food (Phase 1)

This project will work with youth to develop a food-focused program that emphasizes protective factors related to mental health such as nutrition, cultural identity, and community connection.

Mind Your Food

The Mind Your Food project will co-develop, implement, test, and evaluate a community-based program that builds protective factors for mental health in youth (aged 13-19) experiencing food insecurity—including Indigenous, newcomer, and low-income communities. The program aims to achieve this through a cooking, nutrition, and food-focused curriculum that emphasizes healthy relationships with oneself, with others, and with the larger community. Interventions will take place in New Brunswick, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Lead organization: Community Food Centres Canada

Location: Manitoba, Ontario, and New Brunswick
