This summary report was developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada to better understand the landscape of infant and early years mental health in Canada, including gaps and priorities for action. Informed by system actors, it identifies ten challenges and opportunities in early childhood mental health that include focusing on access to mental health services, policy coherence, service and systems integration and culturally safe services.
Given this report’s focus on the Canadian infant and early years mental health system and relevant knowledge gaps, it may be a helpful touchstone for researchers as well as program and policy developers.
