Mental Health Commission of Canada. (2012). Innovation to implementation: A practical guide to knowledge translation in healthcare. Ottawa, ON: Mental Health Commission of Canada.
This resource presents a 7 step Knowledge Translation (KT) process from identifying the purpose of a KT plan through to implementing and evaluating the KT activities. The resource considers multiple types of knowledge (not just that generated through research), and a range of innovations and settings, with a particular focus on mental health services in Canada. In addition to a printed resource, the Mental Health Commission also provides a free on-line training course with guidance and advice on high quality KT activities.
This resource is practical and easy to use; likely most suited to those somewhat new to KT. It will be useful to projects looking for a practical and stepped approach for developing a KT plan.
