Description

The Manitoba Trauma Information Centre works to develop a strategy for enhancing the capacity of organizations and systems to better meet the needs of people who had been affected by trauma.

The Trauma Toolkit (2nd Edition) offers general guidelines for trauma-informed practice to assist service providers and agencies to increase their capacity in delivering trauma-informed services.

Potential use

Both the website and the Toolkit can contribute to individual and organization capacity to deliver trauma-informed practice. The toolkit also includes an ‘Organizational Self Assessment,’ which is a checklist (adapted from the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health original work) that integrates trauma informed practice into hiring practices, policies, procedures, and monitoring & evaluation.
