Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (2016). Walking the talk: A new toolkit on engaging youth in mental health.
A toolkit specific to child and youth mental health promotion from the Canadian context. It includes definitions, guiding principles, core components and benefits of youth engagement. Steps of engagement include co-activate, co-create, co-evaluate and advocacy/education. The content relates mostly to treatment, rather than mental health promotion yet has adaptable content. Youth were involved in co-developing the tool and the youth voice is found throughout.
A toolkit for those interested in engaging youth in mental health promotion work and in bringing this approach into their organizational or project environment. It outlines the importance and benefit to using a youth engagement approach and includes a set of guidelines and activities to help introduce or bolster youth engagement.
